Teltone was founded in Washington in 1968. The company produces telecommunications equipment, including products that transfer computer data over the telephone infrastructure. Over time, the company is increasingly developing and supporting industrial monitoring applications and electronic security products. The CEO of 2000 was former Tetone CFO Debra L. Griffith.
Teltone was acquired by Industrial Defender in June 2008 and subsequently acquired by Lockheed Martin in March 2014. Both the Teltone and Industrial Defender brands continue to exist.

Teltone Corporation was acquired by Leidos in 2016.
